Working with as many local children and families as we do, you run into more recommendations for local parenting resources than you can shake a stick at. Here are just a few that we've collected:

The Orange Cat - If you're looking for things to do with your family in the San Gabriel Valley (besides getting a portrait, of course), then this bi-weekly newsletter is a godsend. Brad and Karen collect all the kid-friendly happenings around town, toss in an interesting essay or editorial, and deliver it to your inbox in a very pleasantly digestible format.

Kidspace Children's Museum - Want a smart and curious child? Kidspace is bound to get their noodle working. They offer interactive exhibits, regular events, and an enviornment that's just plain fun for both parents and their kids.

MOMS Club of Pasadena - Moms who chose to stay home with their children are the focus of this helpful organization. The details are on their website, but essentially they offer local mothers the opportunity to get to know some of the other moms that they've probably bumped into around town, through both independent and family activities and interest groups.
